Satan Attacks vs the Sin Nature | Job, Independence & Disappointment
Satan’s attacks are not the same as the sin nature. This lesson contrasts their targets, methods, and attacks, then traces independence from God in Adam and Eve, names that independence as sin, and follows Job from worship through disappointment to discouragement.
Eve was deceived; Adam ate. Sin and death entered through one man. Planning without “if the Lord wills” is sin. The Spirit directed and restrained Paul’s journeys. God works in believers both to will and to work.
Satan claimed Job served God for gain. Job lost property, servants, and children and blessed the LORD. Struck in his body, he still did not sin with his lips. A week later he cursed his day. Unhelpful counsel from his wife, Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar deepened bewilderment. Satan can hinder plans. Unmet expectations can become disappointment and discouragement.
