Galatians
Stand Fast in Your Liberty
Stand Fast in the Liberty in Which Christ Has Set Us Free, (Galatians 5:1–6)
Christ has set us free to live out the righteousness we possess in Him (Galatians 5:1).
We are not to hold a grudge again with a yoke of bondage (Galatians 5:1).
Herodias held a grudge against John the Baptist for his words to Herod (Mark 6:18–19).
The Pharisees and scribes vehemently held a grudge against Jesus for stating they have taken away the keys of knowledge (Luke 11:53).
Circumcision has no value to the Christian (Galatians 5:2).
Certain men from Judea were teaching the Galatians that unless you are circumcised you cannot be saved (Acts 15:1).
This teaching came out from the Pharisees (Acts 15:5).
The covenant of circumcision was given to Abraham (Genesis 17:9–14).
Those who are circumcised are debtors to keep the whole law (Galatians 5:3).
This is not Ten commandments (Exodus 20:1–17).
It is all 613 Laws: civil, ceremonial, moral, and ritual commands.
Those who seek to be justified by Law are rendered idle to Christ (Galatians 5:4).
Rendering idle indicates that it will not produce what it was intended for.
The unbelief of some does not render idle the faithfulness of God (Romans 3:3).
Our immersion into the Christ renders idle the sin nature (Romans 6:6).
A Christian cannot live out the Christian life through the Mosaic Law, for Mosaic Law renders them idle to the Christ.
Our righteousness is in Christ, not based upon our works (1 Corinthians 1:30)
Fallen from Grace (Galatians 5:4).
Grace is God’s attitude whereby He gives a benefit without consideration of merit.
One who falls from grace, does not lose grace.
This one is not utilizing the things pertaining to life and godliness and therefore, cannot mature in Christ.
These are ones who are led into lawless error (2 Peter 3:17).
Our Standard is the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:2).
This is a law that is not governed by the flesh (Romans 7:22–23).
We serve God with our minds, not by our works (Romans 7:25).
We eagerly await the hope out from faith (Galatians 5:5).
Hope is eager expectation, not wishful thinking.
Hope is always based upon a promise, or it is not hope (Romans 4:18).
The Gentiles have no hope, for they have no promise from God (Ephesians 2:12).
We now have hope in the gospel (Colossians 1:23; 1 Corinthians 15:1–4).
Hope is not seen and therefore faith is the substance of that which is hoped for (Romans 8:24; Hebrews 11:1).
Circumcision nor Uncircumcision Avails in The Christ (Galatians 5:6).
Faith working through Love that avails.
Faith is taking God at His Word (Hebrews 11:1).
Love is seeking the best for the one loved (1 Corinthians 13:4–8).
Love never falls (1 Corinthians 13:8).
Our Liberty in Christ
We do not live by a ridge set of rules to dictate every aspect of life.
The law is ridged and unforgiving (Galatians 3:23).
Those who live by the law, must do the law (Romans 10:5).
The Christian life is lived out in a manner that flows and reacts.
Training your senses to discern what is proper from what is wrong (Hebrews 5:14).
Using the new mind to determine what is the desirous will of God in any situation (Romans 12:2).
Speaking with grace so that your words meet the need (Colossians 4:6).
Our liberty in Christ is not to do wrong (Galatians 5:13).
Let us not no longer live to the flesh, but to the will of God (1 Peter 4:2).
Our freedom in Christ is not to do wrong (1 Peter 2:16).
Our life is not our own (Galatians 2:20).
We are bound to Christ in His death, freeing us from slavery to our sin nature (Romans 6:6).
We are bound to Christ in His resurrection, enabling us to live in newness of life (Romans 6:4).
We are the children of God (1 John 3:2).
Let us walk in a worthy manner of our Lord (Colossians 1:10).
Join us in person at 811 W. Main Street in Monroe, WA 98272.
If you are unable to join in person, we will have a live broadcast of our main service at 11:00 AM.
And let us consider one another in stirring up love and proper works, not forsaking the gathering of ourselves, just as is the habit of some, but encouraging, and so much more as we see the day approaching (Hebrews chapter 10:24–25).
In a world that often pulls us toward isolation, coming together face-to-face provides encouragement, clarity, and spiritual strength. At Word of Grace Studies, we gather because we value the opportunity to build up one another in truth, to stir up love and proper works, and to grow together in the faith. Whether you can come and fellowship with us or at a local assembly in your area, do not forsake the assembling of the saints, your presence matters—for your benefit and for the encouragement of others.
You’re always welcome to join us and experience the encouragement and connection that come from gathering together.
