Galatians
Those Who Hinder Us
Those Who Hinder Us from Being Persuaded by the Truth (Galatians 5:7–15).
The persuasion to live under law is not from the One who called us (Galatians 5:7–8).
A little leaven leavens the whole lump (Galatians 5:9).
Leaven is used as a negative influence on a group.
Jesus warned the disciples to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees (Matthew 16:6)
Jesus is the doctrine of the religious leaders (Matthew 16:12).
This doctrine in hypocritical (Luke 12:1).
Sin within an assembly will also have a negative effect (1 Corinthians 5:1–8).
We are to have no other frame of mind than the truth (Galatians 5:10).
Those who seek to persuade us from the truth will face their own judgment (Galatians 5:10).
If Paul taught circumcision, why was he being persecuted by the Jews? (Galatians 5:11).
Circumcision removes the scandal of the cross (Galatians 5:11).
The leaders of Israel, scandalously crucified Christ (Acts 2:22–23).
Three days later, God raised Him from the dead (Acts 2:24).
The preaching of Christ crucified is a scandal to the Jews (1 Corinthians 1:23).
Paul expresses his desire for those who teach circumcision (Galatians 5:12).
Our Liberty is not to be used for an Opportunity for the Flesh (Galatians 5:13–15).
Our Liberty is not to be used as an opportunity for the flesh (Galatians 5:13).
One of the works of the flesh relates to religious observance (Galatians 5:19–21).
Our liberty in Christ is not to be used to satisfy the flesh (1 Peter 2:16).
We will suffer because we do not follow the way of the flesh (1 Peter 2:15).
Fleshly desires wars against the soul (1 Peter 2:11).
Grace is not an opportunity for the flesh (Romans 6:1–2).
Those who turn the grace of God into licentiousness (Jude 4).
They lure through the flesh (2 Peter 2:18).
We have spent enough of our life walking in lewdness (1 Peter 4:1–3).
Licentiousness (lewdness) is a work of the flesh (Galatians 5:19).
We are to walk properly as in the day, not in licentiousness (Romans 13:13).
We are to use our liberty to love other saints (Galatians 5:13).
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (2 Corinthians 3:17).
We are governed by the mature law of liberty (James 1:25).
Living out righteousness because we know and do the desirous will of God (1 Peter 4:2).
The desires of this world pass away, but the will of God abides (1 John 2:17).
When it comes to the Mosaic Law, it is even summed up in loving your neighbor (Galatians 5:14).
The Mosaic Law was summed up in two commandments by Jesus (Matthew 22:37–40).
Our Love for other saints fulfills any aspect of law (John 13:34).
If we bit and devour each other, we will consume one another (Galatians 5:15).
Join us in person at 811 W. Main Street in Monroe, WA 98272.
If you are unable to join in person, we will have a live broadcast of our main service at 11:00 AM.
And let us consider one another in stirring up love and proper works, not forsaking the gathering of ourselves, just as is the habit of some, but encouraging, and so much more as we see the day approaching (Hebrews chapter 10:24–25).
In a world that often pulls us toward isolation, coming together face-to-face provides encouragement, clarity, and spiritual strength. At Word of Grace Studies, we gather because we value the opportunity to build up one another in truth, to stir up love and proper works, and to grow together in the faith. Whether you can come and fellowship with us or at a local assembly in your area, do not forsake the assembling of the saints, your presence matters—for your benefit and for the encouragement of others.
You’re always welcome to join us and experience the encouragement and connection that come from gathering together.
