This lesson surveys the future of Israel from the giving of the Law to eternity, contrasting God’s program for Israel with His distinct plan for the Church. The Church is removed before the Tribulation and serves in heaven during that period; later returning with Christ to reign with Him during the Millennial Kingdom. Israel, however, experiences a different prophetic timeline.
The study traces Israel’s history after death under the Mosaic Law, including the three chambers of Sheol, the distinction between Abraham’s bosom and the place of torment, and the covenant promises given to the nation. Conditional covenants such as health, wealth, and national blessing are examined alongside unconditional covenants, especially God’s land promise to Abraham.
The lesson explains that Israel has been temporarily set aside due to unbelief, judicially blinded, and scattered among the nations. Yet Scripture promises their future restoration when unbelief is removed. During the Tribulation, Israel returns to the land in unbelief, enters a false peace under the man of lawlessness, and experiences the rebuilding of the temple and renewed sacrifices. The midpoint of the Tribulation marks Israel’s flight into the wilderness, global judgments on the Gentile nations, and Satan’s intensified persecution of Israel.
The session concludes with the prophetic role of the 144,000 who proclaim the gospel of the kingdom throughout the earth during this time.
